Shade Garden Update

So the Hardy Cyclamen is happening in the shade garden! It's really tiny, but I think it's going to look pretty good once it comes up. Also, we put Caladium bulbs down back in March, and they are finally starting to come up. I thought for sure they were dead, but it's going to look pretty good in the corner of our backyard.

Gardenias - update

It looks like the epsom salts and the fertilizer are really starting to help the gardenias. They still look pretty weak, but I'm not seeing any new yellow leaves, and one of them is flowering. Updates to come...

RIP Red Tater

Sad news: The red potato is dead. Some mites decided that it was an all-you-cat-eat buffet and started devouring the potato from the bottom. The little bonsai tree had stopped growing two weeks prior, as it was apparent that several small potatoes were sprouting underneath the soil, most likely drawing the energy to themselves, hindering the bonsai growth.
I cut the main bonsai off the rotten potato and replanted it in the soil with some rooting compound, but I believe that my efforts to resuscitate will be fruitless.

Please note...

...the addition of the botanical photo of the day, featured at top right. Thought I would give it try. Something to spur conversation a bit. Not sure if that was actually necessary, but there you go.

Missing the 4 o'clock...

Can anyone comment on the condition of the office plants? I can't see them from here. I'm dreaming of a cooky cauliflower...

Rescuing the Gardenias...

I'm planning on buying this product today at the Lowe's in hopes that it will cure my gardenia problem. They are currently suffering from yellow leaves, lack of overall foliage, and poor blooming. I've read some about this condition online, and the miracle gro product seems to be the answer.

Rain, Sweet Rain

Finally some rain. My grass is already greening up. :)
