This weekend was fun packed full of yard work. We went to the farmers market on saturday to get some plants, herb, and vegetables. Note to self: Go at 8 am and not at 11 am when it is a holiday weekend. 2nd note to self: Go to an atm NOT at the farmers market prior to going there. I spent 30 minutes waiting in line like a cow going to the slaughter house at high noon.
We ended up getting some italian basil, tyme, dill, oregano, and rosemary for spices and tomatoe plants. As for plants we got some geraniums, verbanas,

We planted some red and purple verbena in between our green ground cover and holly bush in the front to give it some colore:

I started my herb garden this weekend also. I planted 2 better boy tomatoe plants outside in the back area where there is direct sun. I ended up having to go to lowes to get some cow manure and some scott's garden soil. I then decided to put the basil, oregano, dill in seperate 12 inch containers on the deck for easier access.
The grass is definately getting beaten down by heat. I am contemplating giving up and throwing in the towel for now. I have prayed to the rain gods...but i am a sinner....and they are not listening.

I appreciate this extended post. The only thing it lacks is pictures. I guess it turns out your religion was worth something after all, right?
